The Las Vegas rental car central address for the McCarran complex is simple to remember. It is available at 7135 Gilespie Street, Las Vegas. The Phone number to reach the center is (702) 798-4602. If you plan on calling to make your reservations for the vehicle vendor you choose, you need to remember that you will be competing with hundreds of other calls to do just the same every minute. The process will require you to enter many different tone inputs from the phone by pressing numbers. Once you reach the end of the line then there may be a wait from anywhere from 5 minutes to hours before you get off of hold.

There are other methods to make your reservations for the colossal rental car center. You can make reservations online through several different services. There are many different services available online that is amazing to use to get lower cost rentals while you are in Las Vegas. The increase in rentals which are done online help to clear out the call centers and this makes it possible for those who have no other ways to contact the rental company to get through.

Possible options that you must look into when you are shopping for a car rental online are what is available out of the car rental center near the airport. The big problem lies with the increase in taxes that you will have to deal with when you use the vehicle from the rental center like this. There can be taxes that are close to 20 percent which make it much less convenient to use a car rental sometimes.

One of the best things to do before you head off to Vegas and plan to use a rental car is to look at the reviews for the service provided with these cars. Many of the rental companies which offer vehicles in Las Vegas will offer reviews either on their sites or through secondary sites such as comparison listing prices. These special reviews make it possible to really get a good idea on the type of vehicles that you will be using during your trip. This helps to make a better choice of vehicle to get you around Sin City.

Las Vegas Rental Car Tax

Filed under: Las Vegas Rental Car - 20 Apr 2010  | Spread the word !

Some of the most important fees when dealing with rental cars in Las Vegas are the taxes. These taxes can get as high as 27% of the total cost which can be scary and expensive, especially to foreign travelers. These rental car services are offered at a high taxable cost, especially at the Las Vegas Airport. One of the best ways to avoid these extreme taxes is to pick up your vehicle from a non-airport location. This helps to cut the taxes down to a much more affordable option when visiting Sin City.

The best location to get a rental car is at a hotel. Several of the Las Vegas hotels offer great rental car services and they have a wide selection of companies that offer cars within their available range. The vehicles are in great condition and are easily enjoyed in a location such as Las Vegas. Taking advantage of the lower cost rentals also helps you get a great option for a night, or many nights on the town. These vehicles can range from very affordable to extremely luxurious and it is important for the person renting to figure out what they want before they get there.

One of the best ways to get lower cost vehicles, which also helps to cut down on the taxes, is to go online for your vehicle rentals. These online rentals help you choose the vehicle you need as well as where you will be picking it up from no matter where. You can set these reservations and fulfill them easily. You can even book your car reservations when you make your reservations for your hotel if you plan on staying at any of the hotels in Las Vegas on the strip, downtown or any other location.

Parking at the Airport without getting ripped off

Filed under: Las Vegas Rental Car - 16 Apr 2010  | Spread the word !

When you go to the airfield, you are usually in a hurry and don’t have time to mess about. Book your cheap flights, get on your plane, get to your destination and finish your business. The very last thing that you wish to do is fret about airfield parking and what is going to happen to your automobile while you are gone.

Parking in the economy sector could be a superb way to save lots of money when you are traveling out of city. Where I am living in Miami, there’s an economy sector that permits you to park each day for a significantly discounted rate. Most other towns have economy sectors for parking. There’s not a monopoly on airfield parking. You can park in many different commercial lots in most towns and the costs may vary substantially. Go looking before you park, or maybe call around and try to find the top deal. Buying airfield parking isn’t difficult and it truly should not be that difficult to find a fair deal.

This is typically the costliest. It’s typically by the hour parking, which gets extremely pricey on a long term trip. Find out the rates before you park anywhere. If you do not do this, you might end up with a particularly big bill.

Overall airfield parking is yet another shopping experience. Do your homework, know what you are purchasing, and make sure you are not getting ripped off.

Rental Car Companies that Don’t Check DMV

Filed under: Las Vegas Rental Car - 29 Mar 2010  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

Very few people have an impeccable driving record. In fact, the vast majority of people will have between one and four accidents before they are twenty-five and most will have several moving violations. Because of this, many car rental companies have a set list of criteria that will disqualify drivers from renting their cars. In many cases it takes serious offenses, such as DUI, DWAI and habitual offenders in speeding and accidents for a company to disallow you to rent from them. Unfortunately, there is no set guidelines as to what every company will consider to be a habitual offender and in many cases you may be disqualified and not even know.

To avoid this kind of embarrassment at the counter it is imperative that you call the company you are going to rent from prior to your arrival to find out what their qualifications are. Some companies simply verify that you have a valid license with no outstanding warrants and let you go on your way. The others, which unfortunately make up the majority of rental companies, will actually call and have your driving record faxed over before they allow you to take possession of the vehicle in question.

By calling and finding out the circumstances in which you would be disqualified from renting you can find out which companies and/or locations (as most are owned by individual franchisees) will allow you to rent without a driving record check or with minimal invasion. Nevertheless, once you find a company that will accept your driving record is only half the battle for most people. You will then need to compare to other companies that will allow you to rent from them and find the best price. By doing this you can ensure that you will have a pleasant trip from your front door on.

“Name Your Own Price” Car Rental

Filed under: Las Vegas Rental Car - 18 Mar 2010  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

Negotiating your own car rental price can take some time and effort, but in the end it can save you a lot of money. If you’re planning to try to negotiate, it’s better to go to a small, independent rental car company. The big chains may be tied into national policies and rate structures that they can’t alter.

Prior to starting your negotiation, do a little research. Find out what the kind of car you want typically rents for in Las Vegas. Then be realistic. Most companies won’t go much lower than thirty to forty percent off their usual prices.

When opening the negotiation, let the company make the first offer. Then wince, shake your head, and say, “Wow,” as if you cannot believe they would charge so much. Allow a few seconds of silence. Sometimes the sales representative will spontaneously make you a lower offer. If he or she doesn’t, name your own price. It’s okay to lowball it a little bit, but not to the point of being unreasonable.

The sales representative will usually come back with a counter offer, and from there you can haggle back and forth until a mutually satisfying deal is reached or until you are at an impasse. Be creative

Our Drive into Vegas

Filed under: Las Vegas Rental Car - 26 Feb 2010  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

Believe it our not, there is quite a bit of beautiful scenery across the continental United States that many people will never see. We’ve become so accustomed to flying around everywhere that we often forget that all of that “dead space” in between airports actually has things worth seeing. With that sentiment in mind, my wife and I decided to drive to Las Vegas from our Miami condo for our honeymoon. Just to give you an idea of how far we were talking about driving, it’s about a 2,000 mile drive, and that was OK with us. After getting accustomed to the jet setter lifestyle with our travel jobs, it was time to get some alone time with mother nature.

With a tank full of gas, we hit the road around 8 AM on a Wednesday morning to make sure we had enough time to get out of Florida before sunset. We moved through the panhandle and up into the mainland through the night and over the next few days, we ventured through Arkansas and Oklahoma. We could have easily cut through Texas and stayed close to the gulf coast until we made it closer to Nevada, but to pass up the sight of autumn in the midwestern states would be criminal. It wasn’t until we started making it into New Mexico and Arizona that the trip started to get interesting. With miles and miles of desolate roads and nothing but my wife and I in a convertible for miles in any direction, we felt in touch with the outdoors and the things we had never seen. We may have wasted all of our money on gas getting there, but driving to Last Vegas was a much better idea than flying could ever have been.

Do Rental Car Companies Take Check Cards?

Filed under: Las Vegas Rental Car - 16 Feb 2010  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

Truthfully, reserving your Las Vegas rental car with a check card may be a lot simpler than you previously thought. The kicker is in knowing that there are some restrictions and limitations to renting a car without a debit card. Many major car rental agencies offer up this option as a way of catering to all types of customers. If you need to rent your next vehicle with your debit or check card, pay close attention to every word in this article. This way you’ll know exactly what to expect when you book your rental car.

One of the main things you should consider with your Las Vegas rental car is the fact that you will be asked to make a deposit before you can rent the car. Think of it this way…anyone without a credit card is deemed a credit risk. So in order to protect their assets, the rental car agency demand a deposit of $100 or more. Something else I want to say is that you should be prepared to have a hold placed on your bank account for the full amount of the rental including taxes, fees, and processing. You see, it is as though you are paying for the rental in full, up front.

And get this – the car rental agency may ask you for additional documentation. Some ask for a recent copy of a utility bill with your full name and address or you may not be allowed to drive the car across state lines. Every rental car company is different and can set up their own methods of payment. So, when you reserve your Las Vegas rental car, check different locations to see what their policy is. All in all, you can certainly rent with check cards, just be prepared to meet all other requirements.
