Most of the time, when someone visits Las Vegas they plan on staying at a hotel that is close enough to the strip that they won’t have to worry about renting a car, or at least close enough to make cab fare bearable. However, it can be much cheaper to stay in a hotel that is farther away from the heart of the action in Las Vegas, and rent a car to help you travel from one brightly lit location to another.

Some things you should keep in mind when renting a car in Las Vegas:

-Shop Around. The prices from one car rental company to another can differ greatly. Always do the proper research before shelling out your hard earned money. Try looking around for coupons or deals online, and it never hurts to give the company a call and ask what kind of discounts on car rentals are currently available.

-It’s going to be hot. Maybe you should try to avoid a car with leather seats. Remember to make sure than any car you rent has a satisfactory air conditioning unit and won’t turn into a sauna if you leave it in the sun for a period of time.

-Look for something small. Parking in Las Vegas can be a real pain and often times the parking spots that you are able to find are going to be parallel parking spots and won’t leave you with much room to maneuver into them. It may be a smart idea to rent a smaller, more manageable car if you plan on parking anywhere near the strip.

As long as you perform the proper research, and take into account the type of parking and conditions you will be driving around in, in Las Vegas, you shouldn’t have any problem finding a suitable car to rent for an affordable price in Las Vegas.
